On large dinos, use shield bash on their head when they're not about to hit you, and between their strikes punch them once or twice (also in the head) to build up their topple. Pteranodons will love to hover around you when you do this so your Skywave, if applicable, has a nice time in the air. Don't forget to refresh the taunt as new enemies enter the arena or it seems as though bosses aren't paying you enough mind. One use will use it indefinitely until an action or a stun cancels you out of it. Taunt will make enemies want to attack you as long as you look at them and you're within range. However, make sure this is desired, as some ranged DPSes (particularly Vigilant and Deadeye) may not want pteranodons down in the middle of a horde of raptors. Shield bash also forces many aerial mobs to the ground. On a sidenote, pachycephalosauruses can usually be circle strafed, so if they're not charging, just circle around them while hitting them. It only takes a few hits to take out a raptor, and every little bit helps.
